Mill Seat Landfill is a division of Waste Management of New York, LLC. Located on approximately 385 acres.
The Mill Seat Landfill was permitted in 1993 by Monroe County and in 2002, the facility operations were privatized. The facility provides environmentally responsible solid waste management to the region.
The facility is located on the western edge of Monroe County in the Town of Riga.
The NYSDEC permitted landfill consists of around 100 acres. The facility is permitted to accept only non-hazardous materials and waste. Mill Seat is permitted to accept 1,945 tons per day or approximately 600,000 tons per year.
