Wildlife Habitat

Waste Management is an active corporate member of the Wildlife Habitat Council, an international accreditor of programs that create, conserve and restore wildlife habitats on corporate lands. Company wide, Waste Mangement currently provides almost 26,000 acres of protected land for wetlands and wildlife habitat.

 

Mill Seat’s wildlife habitat management program was honored as a Wildlife Habitat Council Wildlife at Work certified program in 2002.  This habitat enhancement program is a dynamic project. Along with employees present on site, partnerships with numerous community group make the Wildlife a Work program possible.  Black Creek Wildlife Station is an organization that rehabilitates sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife.  Once rehabilitated many animals are released back into the wild on Mill Seat’s preservation land.
